Bombard

In 1952, a 27 year old doctor/sailor, Alain Bombard, left Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. He set sail on an inflatable boat, without food or water.

Two months later he landed safe and sound in Barbados after sailing through horrific conditions. He survived by eating fish and plankton and by drinking fish juice and rain water. Bombard proved that is it possible for shipwreck sailors to survive at sea by utilizing the oceans' riches.

Today, his name remains synonymous to survival at sea. His values are reflected in the safe, strong, and reliable products that carry the Bombard name.
